The 2nd M took the 3rd M to the Zoo one day. It was a beautiful day and he enjoyed walking around and being zoomed about in his stroller. (The 2nd M got plenty of exercise running.) He enjoyed the bird pavilion, but his favorite?
Banging on the trash cans every five feet.
The 3rd M loves the 2nd M’s hat. It’s fuzzy and brown and fun to put on his head and not be able to see. He hasn’t figured out yet, it’s not wise to run at a full tilt blind.
But wait! 3rd M!! You can’t see where you’re going! Watch out!
Ouch!
The 3rd M attends French classes every Saturday morning. The first 15 minutes start out well enough (see first picture.) He stands next to the teacher at the table and listens and interacts.
The rest of the time, he’s playing by himself in a corner or marching over to the other parents to demand their smart phones. Note the other boys are sitting nicely. From what I can remember, the 3rd M hasn’t sat down since the class began.
The Denver Childrens’ Museum is a wonderful place to explore, socialize (and catch a cold.) When not ill, The Third M, loves to explore. On this day, in early February, he was particularly interested in the Firetruck.
The nobs, the buttons, the dials, the lights! so fun! The 3rd M even took a moment to hug the fire dog.
So 3rd M is not quite as enamored as my sisters were with their trikes (and me on my dump truck) but he is getting the hang of it.
The bathroom is one of 3rd M’s favourite places because of all the fun stuff in the baskets.
This morning there was a trail of tampons leading out of the bathroom. It made it easy to find him but unfortunately I did not get a photo.
Uncle G came to stay with us over new years! We did not get to see him much but 3rd M enjoyed it!
Now that the holidays are gone and it is just cold, here are some pictures to remember the good times we had just a few weeks ago.
One of the 1st times we went to the park, 3rd M’s total lack of enthusiasm was the best part.
Luckily, he has gotten to like the park more as time has gone by.
Here is what 1st and 3rd M did on 1st M’s birthday.
Unfortunately we were all sick this week so it was one of the least active birthdays I can remember in a long time.
3rd M is getting the hang of ridding a horse. Soon he will driving the car.
First he started out a step or three. Then we got to five+ with lots of stumbles and now we’re full on walking!
We really did walk a few steps here off camera. We swear!
Look at me! I’m really cruising now!
This morning I took the 3rd M to the Children’s Museum. We spent some time in the nice, quiet space for kids under 2 , but what he really liked was the noisy, boisterous, crazy big kids areas and BOY did we have a good time!
I set him up in front of the vacuum tube that shoots out balls. I can just imagine what he was thinking….
“wow, it’s noisy and chaotic here. Such energy. It’s so exciting and I don’t yet know why!
Oh, gosh, there is a big orange ball. That’s SO cool. I must have it.
Wait! There’s another big orange ball. I bet I can pick up two balls.
WAIT! There’s more. OMG! There all coming at once!! What can I do here? I must have them all. This is SO exciting!! They just keep coming and coming and coming.”
Over the weekend we had some friends over for some cake and bread to celebrate 1 year. It sure has gone quick.
3rd M had a great 1st Halloween as a lion. He also enjoyed meeting people at the door but was not sure about giving out the candy.
Note how he is face down, knees slightly tucked under him, one sock on one sock off. He wiggles a lot, but most of that wiggling’s intent is to move forward, hence the strategically placed pillows. The two red ones stop him from banging his head against the walls. The brown one is a hot water bottle, which believe it or not, keeps him from seeking out mom’s or dad’s warm body at 3am. And the green one? Well we had an extra one and with pillows it’s always “The More the Merrier.”
You’ll also note the Binky isn’t needed as much and he’s kind of self soothing now. (For those not in the know, “self soothing” is the Nirvana that all parents try to attain, but are incapable of achieving.)
Uh oh! He just whacked his head against the wall and smiled at me.
Moments from now he’ll be crawling over. Gotta run….
2nd M told me this was not a good way to dry a diaper. 3rd M had a great time though.
3rd M has started his swimming lessons. The first day was more for us than him but after going fully underwater he had no idea why we were cheering… “That was easy!” He loves the water just like his dad.
I’ve been amused at how the 3rd M plays with the our Puppy. Or vice versa. In this interchange, the Puppy grabbed the 3rd M’s current toy: a kitchen sponge. Hey, 3rd M, you’ve gotta be quick!
For those that don’t know, we left my iPad in Montenegro. I’ve since gotten a new one and now can take fun videos of 3M. I’ve forgotten the timing a bit, so the broll is cutting off the video a bit, but you can still enjoy his cute little face without a perfectly timed storyboard. Meanwhile, if this post works, there will be more! (And we take requests.)
